  • Multi dimension program (service delivery, intervention, research and advocacy) – for the homeless children among marginalized communities in India
  • Program focus: urban poor & street-based communities in Calcutta city, West Bengal state, India. 

Dr. Das’s role (as Program Manager: 2003 – 5)

  • Planning, implementation & monitoring of the entire program: 
    • Educational and rehabilitation of children in homelessness / street-like-situation
    • Develop programs for cross-border migrants: self-help group formation, vocational training
    • Counselling; restitution and rehabilitation of commercially/sexually exploited children.
  • Managing & training the program team: researchers, vocational trainers, counselors, placement officers, shelter in-charge & social workers.
  • Financial management of the program
  • Coordinating with governmental authorities & South Asian NGOs.
  • Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA), Logical Framework Analysis (LFA)
  • Planning and designing of curriculum (formal and non-formal education) for rehabilitation of street children
  • Planning and execution of psycho-social rehabilitation & health care service provision for homeless children
  • Advocacy, seminars and lobbying with governmental & non-governmental bodies
  • Community sensitization regarding trafficking and health issues among children in conflict with law
  • Development of IEC (Information-Education-Communication) materials: street-based theatre (theatre for development [TFD] methodology), booklets, posters.
  • Evaluation of NGOs of Bangladesh.
